Plunder Hell, Populate Heaven: What It Means To Partner In The Gospel

Some go. Some send. All share the victory.

Jesus once described His own mission in the language of a raid.

In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.

Mark 3:27

That is the gospel seen from the battlefield. The strong man has been bound. The cross disarmed the powers of darkness, and the empty tomb broke their hold. What remains is the rescue — going into every street, city and nation where people are still held captive, and bringing them home.

Plunder hell. Populate heaven. It is not a slogan. It is a description of what every believer has been drafted into.

The question was never whether you are in the war. It is which post you are holding.

Some go. Some send. All share the victory.

Paul asked the question that turns every Christian into a participant:

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?

Romans 10:14–15

Somebody has to go. And somebody has to send. Scripture never treats the sender as the lesser role. When David’s army came back from battle, some of the men who had fought refused to share the plunder with those who had stayed behind guarding the supplies. David overruled them, and made it a statute in Israel:

The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.

1 Samuel 30:24

That is how the Kingdom keeps its books. The one on the front line and the one who made the front line possible share the same reward.

What partnership in the gospel actually means

The word Paul used for the believers in Philippi is koinonia — fellowship, shared ownership, a stake in the outcome.

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.

Philippians 1:3–5

The Philippians prayed for Paul, sent people to him, and gave — more than once. And Paul was careful about what he was really after:

Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.

Philippians 4:17

Partnership is not charity toward a missionary. It is investment in eternity — fruit that is credited to your account because you made the work possible. John put it simply: when we support those who go out for the sake of the Name, we “work together for the truth” (3 John 8).

Meet Daniel & Katie Ziedins

Daniel — who founded I AM REBORN — and his wife Katie have been sharing the love of Jesus on the streets since 2014, when they started Love on Hamilton: weekly outreach in Hamilton, Ontario that brings practical help, prayer and the gospel to people in real need, including the city’s homeless community.

What began on one city’s streets has grown into Love on The World, a movement spreading the gospel and equipping believers in cities across Canada. In their own words, they have seen chains of addiction break, lives healed, and hearts set on fire for God.

  • Overflow — launched in 2022, a Sunday evening service where the Holy Spirit is given full permission to move, with salvations, healings and baptisms following.
  • The Jesus Festival — an annual gathering in Hamilton where thousands come together to worship and hear the message of Jesus.
  • Love Overflow Trainings — equipping churches and believers to make evangelism a normal, repeatable part of everyday discipleship, not a once-a-year event.
  • Unity across the Body — working alongside ministries including e3 Canada, I Am Second, God Heal Our Land and Disciple a City.

Their mission, as they put it: to see souls saved and Canada set ablaze for Christ. They believe Canada is on the verge of its greatest revival — and they are stepping into dark places to shine His light.

Why through e3 Canada

Daniel and Katie serve in partnership with e3 Canada (e3 Ministry Canada), alongside I Am Second. e3’s mission is equipping believers to evangelize and to establish multiplying, life-changing churches around the world — the same conviction that has driven Love on Hamilton from its first night on the street.

Partnering happens on Daniel and Katie’s own staff page at e3 Canada, so support goes through the ministry they serve with. Paul cared about exactly this when he carried the churches’ gifts: “we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man” (2 Corinthians 8:21).

Five ways to take your post

  1. Pray for them by name. For open doors on the street, for strength and protection for their family, and for the people they will meet this week. Paul asked for exactly this (Ephesians 6:19).
  2. Become a monthly partner. Consistent support is what lets a ministry plan, train and go — not just react. You can start on their e3 Canada page.
  3. Bring them to your church. Invite Daniel and Katie to equip your congregation to share their faith with confidence through their evangelism training.
  4. Tell their story. Share this article, or their ministry, with one person who has a heart for revival in Canada.
  5. Go yourself. Join a Love on Hamilton outreach, or bring the same rhythm to your own city through Love on The World.

The end of the story is already written

We do not partner in this mission hoping it might work out. John was shown how it ends:

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.

Revelation 7:9

Heaven will be populated. The only question is how many from Hamilton, from Canada, from your street will be standing in that crowd because someone went — and someone sent. Jesus said there is rejoicing in heaven over every single one who repents (Luke 15:7). Let’s give heaven more to celebrate.

Common questions

What does partnership in the gospel mean?

In Philippians 1:5 Paul uses koinonia — fellowship or shared ownership. The Philippians prayed for him, sent people to help, and gave more than once, so they had a genuine stake in the work and its fruit.

Is supporting a missionary as important as going?

Scripture says the sender shares the same reward. David made it a statute that "the share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle" (1 Samuel 30:24), and Romans 10:15 asks how anyone can preach unless they are sent.

Who are Daniel and Katie Ziedins?

A couple from Hamilton, Ontario who began Love on Hamilton, a weekly street outreach, in 2014. It has grown into Love on The World. They launched the Overflow service in 2022, help lead the annual Jesus Festival in Hamilton, and train churches in evangelism. Daniel also founded I AM REBORN.

How can I partner with Daniel and Katie?

Pray for them by name, become a monthly partner through their staff page at e3 Canada (e3ministry.ca/staff/katie-daniel-ziedins), invite them to train your church in evangelism, share their story, or join an outreach yourself.
