Identity in Christ

WHO I AM
IN CHRIST.

Thirty-one things the Bible says are already true of every believer — one for every day of the month. Not affirmations you talk yourself into. Declarations of what God has done, each anchored to the passage that says so.

Declaration 1 of 31

I am a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17

The old has gone and the new has come. You are not the same person trying harder — you are a new person learning to live like it.

Read it

Open the passage itself. A declaration is only as strong as the Scripture under it — so read it in context.

Say it

Out loud, in the morning, before your phone. You are not hyping yourself up; you are agreeing with God.

Live it

When an old thought shows up today — I'm not enough, I'm still that person — answer it with this truth.

ALL 31 DECLARATIONS

I AM MADE NEW

Not improved. Not renovated. Reborn.

  1. I am a new creation.

    2 Corinthians 5:17

The old has gone and the new has come. You are not the same person trying harder — you are a new person learning to live like it.

  2. I am born again of imperishable seed.

    1 Peter 1:23

Your new life came from the living Word of God, and what God plants does not spoil.

  3. I am God's workmanship, created for good works.

    Ephesians 2:10

You are something God made on purpose, and the good He prepared for you to do was ready before you arrived.

  4. I am crucified with Christ, and Christ lives in me.

    Galatians 2:20

The life you now live, you live by faith in the Son of God, who loved you and gave Himself for you.

  5. I am dead to sin and alive to God.

    Romans 6:11

Paul tells you to count it as true. Sin still knocks, but it is no longer your master.

  6. I am being transformed by the renewing of my mind.

    Romans 12:2

Change is not willpower against the pattern of this world; it is a mind God is rewriting, one thought at a time.

I AM LOVED

Wanted by the Father before you did a single thing right.

  1. I am a child of God.

    John 1:12

To all who received Him, He gave the right to become children of God. That is a status, not a feeling.

  2. I am lavishly loved by the Father.

    1 John 3:1

See what kind of love the Father has given — that we should be called children of God. And so we are.

  3. I am chosen.

    Ephesians 1:4

Before the foundation of the world, God chose you in Christ. You were never the last pick.

  4. I am adopted, and I can call God “Abba, Father.”

    Romans 8:15

You did not receive a spirit of slavery that falls back into fear. You received the Spirit of adoption.

  5. I am Christ's friend.

    John 15:15

Jesus no longer calls you a servant who is kept in the dark. He calls you friend and tells you what the Father is doing.

  6. I am welcomed by Christ.

    Romans 15:7

Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God — and that is how you are now free to welcome others.

  7. I am loved at my worst, not only at my best.

    Romans 5:8

God showed His love in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. He did not wait for you to clean up.

I AM FREE

The debt is paid and the chains are off.

  1. I am forgiven.

    Ephesians 1:7

In Him you have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of your trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.

  2. I am free from condemnation.

    Romans 8:1

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Conviction still leads you home; condemnation has no say.

  3. I am free indeed.

    John 8:36

If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed — not on parole, not on probation.

  4. I am rescued from darkness and brought into His kingdom.

    Colossians 1:13–14

God has delivered you from the domain of darkness and transferred you to the kingdom of His beloved Son.

  5. I am the righteousness of God in Christ.

    2 Corinthians 5:21

He took your sin so you could be given His righteousness. That exchange is the whole gospel in one verse.

  6. I am not ruled by anxiety.

    Philippians 4:6–7

You can bring everything to God with thanksgiving, and His peace will guard your heart and mind.

I AM SECURE

Held by a grip that does not depend on yours.

  1. I am held, and no one can snatch me out of His hand.

    John 10:28

Jesus gives His sheep eternal life. Your safety rests on the strength of His grip, not yours.

  2. I am never separated from the love of God.

    Romans 8:38–39

Not death, not life, not anything in all creation can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

  3. I am sealed with the Holy Spirit.

    Ephesians 1:13

When you believed, you were marked with the promised Holy Spirit — God's guarantee that He finishes what He starts.

  4. I am a temple of the Holy Spirit.

    1 Corinthians 6:19–20

Your body is not your own; you were bought with a price. So you honour God with how you treat it.

  5. I am given a spirit of power, love and self-control.

    2 Timothy 1:7

God did not give you a spirit of fear. What He gave you is stronger than what you feel.

  6. I am more than a conqueror.

    Romans 8:37

Not by gritting your teeth, but through Him who loved you — in the very things that try to crush you.

  7. I am complete in Him.

    Colossians 2:9–10

The whole fullness of God dwells in Christ, and you have been filled in Him. Nothing essential is missing.

I AM SENT

Saved for something — and sent to someone.

  1. I am the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

    Matthew 5:13–16

Jesus does not tell you to become light. He says you are — so don't hide it.

  2. I am an ambassador for Christ.

    2 Corinthians 5:20

God makes His appeal through you: be reconciled to God. You carry His message wherever you stand.

  3. I am part of a chosen people and a royal priesthood.

    1 Peter 2:9

You were called out of darkness into His marvellous light, so that you may proclaim His excellencies.

  4. I am a branch in the Vine, made to bear fruit.

    John 15:5

Apart from Jesus you can do nothing; abiding in Him, you bear much fruit. Fruit comes from staying, not straining.

  5. I am a citizen of heaven.

    Philippians 3:20

Your citizenship is in heaven, and you live here as its representative — seeking first the Kingdom.
